Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 2026

AI4IP.io is an independent software project operated by a solo developer. By accessing or using AI4IP.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not access the platform.

1. Nature of Service: AI Assistance, Not Legal Advice

AI4IP.io is an advanced artificial intelligence platform designed to assist with patent search, analysis, and drafting.

  • No Attorney-Client Relationship: Use of AI4IP.io does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • Not Legal Advice: The outputs provided by AI4IP.io are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice or legal opinions.
  • Verification Required: AI models (including the ones we use) can "hallucinate" or generate inaccurate information. You are solely responsible for verifying all citations, claims, and legal assertions with a qualified patent attorney.

2. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you input.
  • You must not use the platform to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
  • You agree not to reverse engineer or attempt to harm the platform's infrastructure.

3. Intellectual Property

  • Your Data: You retain ownership of the specific queries and draft inputs you provide.
  • Platform IP: AI4IP.io retains all rights to the underlying software, algorithms, and models.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI4IP.io shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. We specifically disclaim liability for any rejected patent applications or litigation outcomes.

5. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

6. Billing, Credits, and Refunds

AI4IP.io operates on a Pay-As-You-Go credit system. Credits are managed via a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) ledger and expire 30 days from purchase. All sales are final.

Exception: If the AI engine is entirely unable to locate relevant prior art due to absolute novelty, the system halts and automatically refunds the credits for that specific transaction back to your ledger.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Libya, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
